Crazy Cat Illustrations by Lingvistov

I love cats, you love cats, everyone on the internet loves cats – or else. Lingvistov does it again by listing several types of cats. Just like people, cats can be very different (united only by cuteness). One is lazy while another can be… less lazy. One is friendly, the other is less so. Some even fetch balls! See if you can recognize your cat in one of these illustrations.. I think mine tick a few 🙂

Lingvistov group was created in 2012 by Asia and Landysh. Fresh out a Russian linguistic university, they offered language classes. Eventually, they discovered their love of both drawing and cats, and the rest is Internet history. You can see their post of cat truths here. My Jewel 🙂 She ate a whole 6months supply of biscuits in a week and weighed triple her normal weight haha!

Jewel again.. likes to chew plastic and cables.. nearly killed the fish when she chewed their tank cable.. planned perhaps

They both have their hyper moments.. generally showing off when people are round! OR chase that tail!

Marie is very lazy and often makes us nap more or sleep for longer :p

Marie was a rescue from my time in America, a scrappy little thing abandoned in a box.. but now she is beautiful and happy 🙂

Disney Princes Get A Lifelike Makeover

We’ve seen Disney Princesses reimagined in every way possible, so it’s only fair that the boys should get a turn. These magnificent portraits are the work of Finnish graphic designer, Jirka Väätäinen. Which one do you like best?

Distractify reached out to the artist to learn more about his inspiration for these handsome reincarnations. Here’s what he had to say!

DFY: Did you grow up watching Disney movies?
Jirka: I sure did. The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Hercules and Beauty and the Beast were some of my favourite films growing up.

DFY: Everyone has done something with Disney Princesses, but the Princes are rarely in the spotlight. Why did you choose to illustrate them?
Jirka: I had already received so much positive feedback for the Disney girls that I did, and people kept requesting the Princes as well. I thought now was a good time to give people what they wanted and challenge myself with something new.

DFY: Is there a particular Prince you identify with most?
Jirka: Not sure if there is one prince that I clearly identify myself with. But I have always enjoyed watching the stories of these humble guys like Aladdin and Hercules.

Custom Illustrations by Kirsty Willette ‘TEA FOR ME DESIGNS’

A good friend of mine, Kirsty Willette is a fantastic illustrator who has created two of my favorite ever illustrations for me. She also collaborates with me for my VB / China Bambi illustrations.

Last Christmas I asked her to create a comic style illustration for my boyfriend with our kitty Marie. (They are both inseparable!)

So this time round I requested one for me with my kitty Jewel. 🙂

Movember Movember

It’s the month of November, and November is famous for its Movember charity event.

Men participate in this charity month by shaving off their facial hair at the end of October to grow out a huge Mo (moustache) by the end of the month, creating donations for the charity and raising awareness while doing so.

VB’s collection ‘Mr Tash’ is inspired by the lorax and his big tash, so what better way to take part in this event than to wear Mr Tash proud and also help the charity at the same time!
